AAPL - Apple Inc & China Mobile Inks deal
According to sources familiar with the freshly signed contract, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) reportedly sealed a deal with China Mobile where some 740 million subscribers will be offered the iPhone.
Apparently, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been working on this this deal for quite sometime and it seems efforts have finally gave fruits. This is a huge opportunity for Apple as it’s about to tap into the largest cellular subscriber base in the world.

Apple expects to get at a minimum about 100 million customers out of the 740 or so million China Mobile customers with potential for hundreds of millions more, most of which will be using the new 4G LTE network rolled out by China Mobile and is expected to be ready sometime in the second week of December. Of note, the iPhone has already been approved to run on the new TD-LTE standard.
China represents a great revenue source for Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), for the the whole year, the Chinese region has generated about $26.8 billion in revenue. In just one quarter, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) generated well over $5 billion in revenue from the greater China region.
